Formatting an email marketing: 5 tips to follow
If you design email marketing, know this: Your formatting is as important as your subject line or content. Confused and messy formatting will put off your readers. Likewise, if it is too colorful or too empty, it will not trigger the act of purchase.
But keep in mind, there are a few rules to follow when designing email marketing. Here we give you some tips to make your workout as attractive as possible.
Watch out for graphics
It’s tempting to incorporate flashy graphics into your layout. However, having too much is not a good idea. Think about the amount of time a customer spends reading an email – recent studies show that people skim through each email and spend an average of seven seconds on it. If you overload your emails with graphics, those seven seconds will be allotted to understanding them, at the risk of overshadowing the message and the primary purpose of your email.
Be disciplined with the pictures.
The idea is a bit the same as the first one, with a few differences. Unlike graphics, email providers will often block images, giving recipients the choice of whether or not to upload them. When you overload your emails with images, it increases the upload time of it, and once again, the seven seconds spent on your email is wasted if the customer has to wait for the images to appear. Be disciplined and don’t put more than four images in your email.
Use links to improve the reputation of your emailings.
Unlike spammers who send a thousand emails and never include more than two or three clickable links, good email marketers use links to boost their web reputation. The links are interesting because when you have an opt-in list and your customers go to it, it informs the ISP that your recipients are interested in your content, and therefore you are not a spammer. Try to put around seven links in your email if you want to maintain your online reputation.
Don’t overwhelm your customers with too much text
Generally, emails need text to harmonize their formatting, but currently, it is difficult to capture the attention of Internet users for a long time, so it is better to keep it simple and efficient. So give up long paragraphs and winding explanations. Instead, introduce your ideas with a few punchy sentences and then use redirecting links to your site where people can learn and buy your products or services.
Send test emails to make sure everything is working
Most email marketing senders miss this step, probably because they have a knife in their throats to complete and send emails to customers.
